Cobalt Butterfly

This panel is 40" X 40". There are approximately 372 pieces, 11 colors, and 10 different textures. This is not an original pattern. This pattern was designed by Anna Croyle from her book, "Mandala Stained Glass Pattern Book." Pattern was enlarged and modified from circle to square. This particular project took me a year to complete because of its complexity of texture and color. With my lack of color coordinating skills, I had to pull out the big guns- "the color wheel," but it did not help me with the texture. This project started with the cobalt blue, but because of the complexity of the pattern design, I felt that it demanded an intricate color scheme as well as texture.
