Description:

I have a 20 gallon tank that I keep 2 friendly little hermit crabs in... Hermit crabs require high humidity so a screened manufactured lid wasn't really feasible. They also like to climb [up AND out] - so a lid is required. I made 2 stained glass panels in a koi design (with a few glass gems for a 3D bubble appearance), lined the underside with a pane of standard glass, added a piano hinge in the center, and trim around the edges. Each panel is roughly 12" x 14". I added a strip of LED lights around the top of the aquarium itself - to showcase my beautiful piece of functional art.
