Description:
The new owners of a local restaurant were doing some remodeling before their opening and wanted privacy panels around their grill area. After talking with them and designing some panel ideas for them to choose from, they decided on this design. This was the first time I had done a sand blasted etching project (I have done smaller projects with acid etching in the past). The five panels are tempered glass in three different sizes. I hand cut the design into the relief and received excellent instructions on the blasting technique from my favorite stained glass studio. Many thanks to them for the use of their equipment! A local carpenter custom built the framework I designed for the glass to be supported on all sides. I was honored they asked me to do this project for them and know it will be a fixture in their restaurant for many years to come.
