Pinkie Pie Sugar Skull

The art and history of Dia de Los Muertos has fascinated me for a very long time; the juxtaposition of color with the macabre is fantastic to behold, and the underlying meaning of the holiday (the remembrance and honoring of deceased loved ones and the aide in their spiritual journeys) speaks to me on a religious and profound level. I aimed to emulate the beauty of the sugar skull in this series. Pinkie Pie is the last of the three originally-designed and hand-built stained glass panels of my Dia de Los Muertos Sugar Skull series. 10.5"x6.5"
