Description:
I began with a new cedar birdfeeder and applied very special green, frosted, and clear glass gems. The frosted and most of the clear gems have small green leaves within them. I glued all the glass to the feeder with thinset so no worries about the weather. The ends of the feeder are decorated with stained glass flowers I cut by hand. The flowers really pop with color and reflect the sunlight beautifully. I had great fun with the nutmeg colored grout. When the grout was in place, I added tiny stones, then used green and sandstone colored grout pigment to give it a mossy earth texture that I'm sure the birds will find very pleasing. The feeder comes with clear acrylic sides (not shown)that slide down little shoots and keeps the seed from spilling out. All exposed wood was painted with enamel paint. The piece measures 13"x8"x7". It's been sealed inside and out numerous times and is sure to last wonderfully for years.
