Stained glass coffee table inserts by Antonette Barrett

Description:

Although I'm fairly new at stained glass this my 3rd piece is truly my most PRIZED POSSESSION!!!! I drew, designed, and created the entire project myself!!! The toughest part was trying to come up with a way to make it strong without waying it down (being as how my 6 to year old loves to sit & stand on it). Finally I found an epoxy that was very thick and strong, the only downfall to that was that the epoxy dried with wrinkled waves all through it. So since the wood was old and loosing it's luster, I decided to sand it. So after I sanded and stained the wood the epoxy was no longer wrinkled just VERY scratched before giving up all hope, I decided to use a car Polish and buffer.....and voila, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE with a crystal clear glass type finish with as much strength as the original clear glass inserts if not stronger! :).... I'm sooo proud of this piece and will cherish it always! I now refurbish and create custom furniture for anyone requests. The BEST part of this whole project is the fact that I never had to solder or use lead came I simply adhesive'd the stained glass right on top of a thin piece of picture frame glass. It was a lot of HARD WORK, even more DETERMINATION!!! But I wouldn't change it for the world! I LOVE MY CUSTOM COFFEE TABLE!!!!!
