Bright Spring Blooms

The design is a glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaic art piece featuring a large garden of red, orange, yellow and white flowers. Particular to this design is my use of semi-precious gemstones as flower centers, including both agate slices/geodes and dragon veins cabochons. Two of the larger flowers incorporate antique glass rondels into their designs. The frame is a new cabinet door in high quality maple wood, and the piece can be hung both vertically and horizontally. I do not work from patterns or images, but instead I create my designs as I work, cutting and placing glass as the image "creates itself" on my substrate.
