Blue Garden Skylight

The design is a glass on glass (GOG) mosaic art piece, commissioned for a private home's skylight. Highlights include semi-precious gemstones, including both agate slices and dragon veins cabochons in the centers of the flowers. Process: I design, and create, all of my own design pieces, so each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. All glass pieces have been cut by me. Only the highest quality glass is used. Everything is then sprayed with a sealant to protect the glass and grout from wear and tear (and allowing the piece to be displayed outside). I've also covered the piece in high gloss varnish to provide a more professional, shiny look. I do not work from patterns or images, but instead I create my designs as I work, cutting and placing glass as the image "creates itself" on my substrate.
