Sun Dappled Pond in Forest

0 loves
Description:

The design is a glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaic art piece. In this art piece I wanted to create a stained glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaic that complimented a similar design that I had created in quilt form years earlier (quilt displayed after mosaic photos). The design is meant to invoke the feeling one has while being immersed in the light of a sun-dappled forest. I wanted something similar to my quilt, but not an exact copy. Therefore, similar colors were used, and similar geometric lines. Unique piece highlights: Over 100+ hand cut squares and rectangles; hundreds of hand-cut small stained glass lines.  I do not work from patterns or images, but instead I create my designs as I work, cutting and placing glass as the image "creates itself" on my substrate.

Dimensions: Height 28″ x Width 28″ x Depth 2″

I love it!!! I'm fairly new to the glass world but I too would rather create my own designs and creations. Following a pattern is too structured and outlined for me. Life is structured and outlined way too much these days, so YOU GO!!!! THE ONLY PATH WORTH TAKING IN LIFE IS THE ONE WE GENERATE OURSELVES!!!!! Love your piece, and now I'm inspired and excited to create my next one. I also like glass on glass pieces using adhesive and finishing of with casting resin or epoxy.
