Upcycled Sidelights

For many years, I saved interesting or significant bottles with the intention of using them in a project. Just as the piles in the garage were reaching dangerous levels, I was thrilled to receive the Creator's Bottle Cutter as a gift from my daughter. It had been my dream to use the bottles in a large scale installation, and I was not disappointed by these 7 foot 5 inch tall front sidelights! I have since gone on to make smaller versions for clients but this, my first and largest experiment, truly paid off. I used textured and sandblasted demo pieces from a workshop I'd taken part in. Even our old coach lamp inserts found their way into the piece! Not only was I pleased with the visual impact of the finished sidelights, I was also happy to give old bottles a new life beyond the recycling bin.
