Armenian Heritage

I took inspiration from looking at online photos of Mt. Ararat and the Armenian church at its base. It started out as a possible suncatcher idea from a church member and totally GREW!  Drew the pattern on graph paper.  I made this piece twice, once with the large mountain as a solid piece in an amber mottled granite. I remade it, splitting the mountain into several pieces, and gave it a glacier look.  Liked this one much better.  The Armenian flag in red, blue and amber are part of the piece, in the backbround and as the border.  Making the cross was fun....cut foil and taped it down to a piece of scrap glass...tined it, then popped it off and super glued it on, also soldering it into the steeple solder line.  Repeated it on the opposide side.  Finished piece: 14" X 27"
