This is a blown glass vase that I made using four different colors, each wrapped individually, with two additional colors of frit for extra pattern. The overall flow of the colors references the movement in a landscape and the flower-like shape of the "petals" references nature. The bright, translucent colors were chosen so that they would interact and melt on top of each other, while the more opaque blue adds contrast and evokes water or a starry sky. The landscape itself is ambiguous and can be seen in several ways. As an alternate function, I left the bottom clear and the petals are level so that the vase can be placed upside-down to become an ambient lamp when an electrical candle in placed inside of it.
My vase is aprovimately 7x11 inches
