I designed this waterlily to fit a beautiful, but broken piece of Youghiogheny background glass that I've had in my studio for over 10 years. I drew the design directly on the glass, instead of creating a paper pattern, to take advantage of the background's incredible colors and translucency. Then cut the background out, and fit the leaves, petals, and buds to the background.
Panel is 13" wide by 24" tall. Flower center is iridized streaky glass, etched and painted on the reverse.
