Hibernating Winter Bears

Mama bear love and protection! That was my inspiration for creating this 20" x 27" oval mosaic -- one in a series of three -- for a newly remodeled neonatal intensive care unit of a children's hospital. This winter scene is flanked by a summer scene (mama bear and cub watching buzzing bees) and a fall scene (mama bear and cub touching noses amongst falling leaves). I wanted the mosaics to convey a calm, loving, peaceful vibe in what can be a very high stress environment.
