Description:
Inspired by Disney's Alice in Wonderland, these 23in x18in panels come alive with a brilliant stained glass flair. My name is Alice, so I've always been fascinated by the story. I chose this scene because I could really zoom in on the characters while at the same time keeping them connected to each other. This was my first project in stained glass, and I did everything using a simple hand cutter and breaker and ground out what I couldn't cut away with a Glastar grinder. This made the apron for Alice really challenging as the glass was very thin and the curve near her neckline took a lot of grinding. Needless to say, I broke a bit of glass trying to get things just right. The panels now sit in my bedroom window and brighten my day.
Material used:
- stained glass
- solder
- zinc came
- flux
- copper foil
- patina
