In and Out

This is a kiln carved piece approximately 12 x 8 in size, made by layering 2 mm sheets of glass over the pattern.  After firing, the piece is coldworked and sandblasted.  In and Out is a reflection on a painful and disruptive childhood which culminated in the early passing of my father when I was nine years old.  During the last five years of his life, he was never really there, but never really gone.
