Beyond the Stars

We all gaze up at the stars, wondering what else is out there, watching the flickering light from trillions of miles away, so I painted a small watercolor sketch. Which inspired me to make “Beyond the Stars” with a faceted red jewel, a single antique lead crystal gem, and a few dichroic glass stars. The detail photo shows the jewels and a couple of the dichroic bubbles.

And the other two photos show a bit of my creative process - since I don’t work from patterns and all of the glass is cut and free-formed on my bench.
