BIO-GENETIC ICOSAHEDRONS "What's for Dinner?"

This work is based on the idea of biogenetically engineered plants.  Icosahedrons are twenty-sided geometric forms which I have created as the building blocks of the plant-like form.  These forms are a completely man-made invention, as they do not occur in nature.  I am simultaneously concerned and intrigued about the Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) which are now part of our daily lives.  

I have created 13 monochromatic, 20 sided solid glass geometric forms "Icosahedrons" and used UV glue to assemble them into a plant-like form which is attached to a beveled mirror.  Individual Icosahedrons were cast from wax sculptures.
