Ballagio

This is a piece make from scrap glass, frit, and the knee replacement appliance, The old knee wore out and I had to have surgery to remove it and put a new one in.  I asked the Dr. to save the old knee for me. He did finally get it for me, I placed the metal parts in the kiln and fired it to 900 F. The color changed from silver to multi colors of cobalt, purble and gold. It took some time to figure out what I was going to do with it, but I had already made all the glass pieces and when I glued them all together I really loved how it turned out.  The Dr. was blown away when I took it in to show him.
