The Rock Pool

This piece was inspired by the Rock Pools in Australia along the Coastal Beaches. Sometime you might see a little Blue Ringed Octopus in them like the one I have created in this piece. The "Rock" technique is taught by a very talented artist Mark Hufford. 

This piece is totally made of glass including the "rocks" they are made from Sys96 glass and a process using CFE enamels. There are multiple layers to this project as well as many firings. If you look closely you will see starting from the bottom the small beach pebbles, the ebb of the water receding back across the sand and the water lapping around the rocks. Look closely and I am sure you will find other things in this piece that are pleasing to the eye.
