"Empire's Sunburst", Art Deco Stained Glass Panel

Handmade Art Deco stained glass panel with 55+ pieces. The clear glasses range from transparent to iridized to create a superb transmission of the light. The textures were varied from sanded to reeded to get the linear dramatic touch characteristic from the style. The rounded lead came was chemically treated to achieve a vintage finish. "Empire’s Sunburst" has a genuine wood frame with a metallic grunge that pairs with the design. 

The piece has American glass. Its whole assembly and framing were done at Evettro’s Southern California studio.

Inspiration:

The Art Deco style of architecture and design became popular in the 1920s and 1930s. It was not a single style, but a collection of different and sometimes contradictory styles. It was influenced by the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the bright colors of Fauvism; and, featured new materials like chrome plating, stainless steel and plastic. Nowadays, Art Deco still represents luxury, glamour, exuberance, and faith in social and technological progress.
