"Gatsby", Art Deco Stained Glass Panel

0 loves

Handmade Art Deco stained glass hanging panel with 60+ pieces. The contrast between the opalescent iridized gold and black glasses creates the ultimate luxurious design. The reflection of the light emphasizes the linear geometry characteristic of the style. Its rounded lead came was chemically treated to achieve a vintage touch. "Gatsby" has a genuine black wood frame with a golden fillet that pairs with the design.

The piece has American glass. Its whole assembly and framing were done at Evettro’s Southern California studio.

Art Deco became popular in the 1920s and 1930s. It was not a single style, but a collection of different and sometimes contradictory styles. Among others, it was influenced by the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the bright colors of Fauvism (trapezoidal, zigzagged, triangular shapes, chevron patterns, stepped forms, sweeping curves and sunburst motifs); and featured materials new to the age, like chrome plating, stainless steel and plastic. Nowadays, Art Deco still represents luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress.

“Gatsby” is a glam tribute to gothic and symmetry lovers.
