Description:
My Egyptian Orthopedic Surgeon came to me with a picture of Water Wheels in Egypt. He wanted a 3-Dimensional Stained Glass Art Piece where the Water Wheels turned with actual Water. A wood Box was made to hold the lights and had a glass platform to support the tub filled with water. I did Glass around the sides of the wood, then filled in with grout. The design matched the Plant Containers on the Stained Glass Wall that the water spills from. I made a Stained Glass Box to cover the plastic tub that contained the water. It was open on top to be able to fit the 4 Glass Water Wheels and the back wall that had the glass troughs that came over to spill the water just right over the wheels to turn them. Behind the back wall was the Water Pump and the tubing that came up to each opening where the troughs were. I also made a cover to hide all this in the back. Most of the glass was Opalescant Whispy, but the Glass Cover made for over the plastic tub, plus the cover hiding the pump and tubing was the Dark Amber Fibroid Glass. This project was a BIG under taking. I never have done something like this before. It took lots of Thinking, Trial and Error. I do have a Video showing it work. The dimensions are 13 inches across the front, 10 inches wide and 11 inches high. A One of a Kind Project
