Description:
Bailey passed away last year, so I made this portrait as a momento for her owners. The antlers for the presentation came from thier Oregon country property, making the entire piece very personal. If you look closely, you can see whiskers and other fine detail in the fur, eyes, and mouth. I hope I captured Bailey's cheery disposition and happy nature. This portrait used several techniques with frit, powder, enamel, and coldworking - working from the foreground backwards. It required 9 firings to layer the multiple colors required to create the black/white fur, the shades of grey in the muzzle markings, and the detail in the mouth, tongue, and teeth. The glass tile is approximately 8 inches square.
