Oh, Deer!

Deer are frequent breakfast guests in my yard, so I took a photo of one of my guests and put her down by a stream for a stained glass panel in my series of the wildlife I share my home with (pictured).  The panel is 12" x 12", and features many of the characteristics of my northern Michigan home -- moving blue waters in streams surrounded by grasses and hills, and of course, white birch.  While making this panel, I discoverec my favorite method of making the distinctive patterns of birch bark -- I paint the black lines, then while only partially dry I scrape at the paint with t razor blade....I have found this to recreate the pattern to my liking! I also loved the glas I found that has the colors of the sunset in a slightly cloudy sky -- the pinks and blues are what I love seeing as the sun sets over the hill across the lake outside my window!
