This beautiful picture frame is a wonderful example of the creativity that is possible when working with stained glass. It holds a 4" x 6" photo and is one of my original designs. Using a technique that originated with Louis Comfort Tiffany in the late 1800's and early 1900's, it consists of a very detailed and precise process that begins with an exact design and proceeds through at least 7 separate steps that culminate in a work of art. This item contains 32 pieces of glass that are cut, ground to perfection and then wrapped in copper foil and finally soldered. It is comprised of textured glass in rich red and amber, clear beveled glass and iridescent glass jewels in vibrant red, green, amber and turquoise. Finished in a soft black patina and polished for a protective sheen, it has a removable black easel back. Can be displayed in a vertical or horizontal position. Photo not included.
Overall measurement of frame 7 x 9 inches.
