Taylor Guitar

A musician friend, and love for his music, was the inspiration for this Stained Glass Taylor Guitar. The original pattern was designed after a photo of a guitar that friend Bobby Webb plays. I had the idea for the guitar after stumbling across the wood patterned glass from a supplier. I wanted the guitar to be as close to a replica as possible without being able to play! There are so many details - for the Tuners and Bridge Pins I used the heads of push pins; Tuning Pegs are glass beads; for the Frets (notice the spaces between the frets are graduated smaller) and the Bridge, I used copper reinforcing strips; and, hard to see, is hand painted detail on the neck frets. After all of that, I "strung" the guitar using varying guages of pre-tinned wire. Once the guitar was done I was in a quandry as to how to proceed. It would be impossible to hang the guitar without any support. I then added the Neck Band and the glass frame to complete the project. Zine frame is along the Top and left side of the panel.
