Description:

This is the one garden that I have planted that is always in bloom and I never have to weed! Among the flowers you can spy a mourning dove, a goldfinch, a warbler and a bumble bee, a snail and a butterfly. The butterly is a 3D mosaic that was attached to the panel after it was grouted. I used my gardens as inspriation and then my imagination to create some of the flower shapes. This original design took me 4 months to complete using stained glass, glass beads and ceramic pieces as my tessera. I also hand made the ceramic border tiles that complete the composition. The finished piece is 48" x 48".
