Description:
This was my first attempt at making a bowl with the fractured glass technique. There is always some concerns when you hit a piece of glass with a hammer...lol...but the end result justified the means. The Fusers Reserve color of the Sourapple swirl with Opal White backing was made with 96 coe glass fired in two stages. A full fuse in the flat format and a slump over the mold. The Opal White under glass was cut to 11 1/2" while the Sourapple was cut to 11". This gave room to work out the spacing for the cracked glass and allow the Opal White to shine through without losing the swirl effect of the Sourapple glass. I enjoyed this design so much I have gone forward and made two other bowls using other Fusers Reserve colors.
Material used:
- Fusers Reserve Sourapple and White Opal
