Tulip Garden

Description:

What can I say?  I like tulips.  I’m not sure why.  Perhaps it is because, to me, they represent the end of winter, i.e., the beginning of spring.  There are myriad varieties of tulips ranging from the tall and slender to the petite and plump – all bring a welcome splash of color to the post-winter, early-season flower garden.  My deep vessel bowl, “Tulip Garden,” is made with Bullseye grass green tint sheet glass and decorated with three “varieties” of colorful tulips (from tall and slender to petite and plump).  I used the 3-step deep vessel slumping technique developed by world-renowned Irish glass artist, Karl Herron to create the vessel, which can be a conversation piece, a centerpiece or the functional piece of a flower arrangement.
