Christmas Tree 2015

Flat panel, fused glass Christmas Tree, using Bullseye 90 COE glass, fine Frit, and CBS thin black 90 COE dichroic Wavy Firestrips.  Completed flat panel size 20" W x 30" H (4.17 sq ft).  Composition contains three layers of 3mm glass: Bottom, Tekta Clear; Middle, Bullseye White on Clear Streaky Glass; Top, Bullseye Cranberry/Royal Blue/Green/White StreakyGlass Christmas Tree with Woodland Brown tree stump, plus six "strings" of  Firestrips overlaid on tree; Bullseye fine Frit  for treetop Star (Yellow), Peace (Pink) and HoHoHo (Blue) highlights.

Created in 2015 as a personal Christmas gift for my wife and decoration for our home.  Designed, cut-out, composed and fused at Art Glass City, Lewisville TX, under watchful, teaching tutelage of Cheryl Thompson, professional Owner, Bullseye Dealer and Art Instructor of Art Glass City.

This piece is number LVII (57) of 79 different fused glass art pieces (crosses, bowls, sushi plates, serving platters, commemorative plaques, wine racks, and wall art) I've designed and made since starting working in glass in 2014 (at age 70).  Cheryl Thompson has been my fusing glass instructor, friend and confident inspiration throughout; she is extremely professional, with a wonderfully creative eye and drive that she displays in all her own work and eagerly translates to her students.
