Fused Glass Colourful Chandelier

This piece is approximately 90cm diameter wide fused glass chandelier. The glass pieces range in height from about 35cm - 20cm.  Each transparent glass piece has a hook in it, and attaches to the Moroccan design wrought iron frame. This in turn is attched to a steel chain which hooks to the ceiling. It weighs approximately 10kg.

I was inspired by the coloured glass chandeliers which I saw while in Italy. I found the frame in a local Moroccan shop.  I fired two pieces of coloured fused glass, with a metal u hook in it to make each piece. There are about 70 strips of glass.  I hung metal hooks from the disc and hooked the glass pieces to the frame. A globe hangs in teh middle of the piece.
