April Showers

This 8 inch oval organically shaped bowl is my answer to the rather bland late winter landscape.  I used a variety of powdered glass frit to create my own fantasy flower on a clear sheet glass base.  This piece is created using the slurry method, where you mix glass frit with distilled water to create a "batter" of glass, which you can blend and mix using a spray bottle of water and a toothpick.  You don't see the results of your blending until after firing, so it makes the kiln opening extra exciting!
