This mosaic was inspired by observing the magnificent Jabirus whilst exploring the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, Australia. I aimed to not just capture the Jabirus but their beautiful and unique environment.
This large piece 1m 24 X 1m 22 took me six months to complete. I fused the jabirus, waterlilies and some of the lily pads. I used a variety of glass- fusible glass, antique glass, textured glass and mirror glass.
It is the largest mosaic I have ever attempted and the first time I have entered this competition.
