Church doorway window 3

The window was built to reduce glare coming into the sanctuary. I agreed to make four windows using materials I had available. This is the third window. The bottom panel shows Moses in the basket. The scene is Egypt as illustrated by the pyramids. The red bar at the bottom symbolizes the shedding of blood by Moses which caused him to flee. The next panel up has as the center the crossing of the parted sea by the Israelites. The portion on the right is the burning bush that God spoke from. The left side of this panel is the rod being turned into a serpent, the turning of the river into blood and the other plagues the Israelites experienced. The next panel has a plywood panel that has been cut out by one of now deceased member of the church. It is Moses holding the tablets of stone. It has been backed by a colored piece of glass to make it the center piece. The left side of this panel is the manna illustrated by small beads and the quail that God supplied during the forty years in the wilderness. The right side is the water flowing from the rock and serpent mounted on the staff that when looked upon prevented a bitten person from dying. The top panel is shaped like an eye with two black shrouds to remind us that Moses was able to see the Promised Land, but died before he got to enter it.

The window was made from glass I was able to buy from someone quitting doing stain glass. I have a fourteen year old Speedster band saw that works off of a homemade speed control. I used lead came, copper foil and super glue to put the window together. If you ask where did the design come from, I have to point out it is a church window and I suspect God used me as the technician.
