Harley-Davidson Eagle Lamp donation for Cancer screening - St. Joe Co., MI-2016

This one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson leaded stained glass creation was designed and built by me in my little studio in our barn!  When I learned about our local Harley dealership sponsoring cancer screening for uninsured and underinsured women, I knew I needed to do something spectacular to donate to the live auction that funds this effort.  Just in my immediate family, we have four people (including my own husband, my niece's three-year-old daughter and my nephew) that have been battling severe forms of cancer.  Anything I can do to help the cause makes my artistic efforts so much more relevant.  This was my second donation and I'm currently working on a stained glass mosaic for this year's auction.    Thus far, my donations have generated $3250.00.  I'm hoping that I can top this total this year.  This lamp has over 500 pieces that depict the Bald Eagle grasping the pink Breast Cancer ribbon.  I totally did the entire design, cutting the pieces from antique glass, and hand-soldered each piece. ( I wish the pics would capture the rich colors better.). The base was designed using Harley-Davidson parts and pieces completing the original theme.  I am proud to use my stained glass skills to lend a hand in this wonderful effort.
