Cowboy Boot Lamp

0 loves
Description:

I glued a six-foot 2 x 4 together and sanded it in the form of a boot.  I borrowed my brother's boots to determine size, shape, and design.  After painting the form, I drew my pattern on it.  Traced the pieces onto vellum and constructed the foiled glass pieces.  I made the lampshade in two halves, removed them from the form, and then soldered the halves together.  I carved a basswood base.  Installed a socket, switch, and cord.  I plugged the lampshade into a timer so it comes on at dawn and dusk.  It puts a warm glow in my home.
