The Gift of Marriage

This lamp was a gift for a terminally ill friend.  He asked me to depict the four qualities of a successful marriage: Honesty, forgiveness, gratitude, and love.  He gave me only those four words and left the rest to me.  I used hands as the unifying theme for the four panels, then added flowers to further illustrate each quality.  The square cap was custom made by a local metal fabricator and I found the base at a consignment shop.  The lamp now serves as a reminder of his caring and wisdom.
