Out To Haul

Description:

I grew up on an island off the coast of Maine.  I wanted to create a mosaic that reminded me of days spent on the water, hauling traps and catching lobsters. The seafoam color sparkles and the fractures remind me of squinting through the water as the traps are pulled up. The red glass has lots of varying colors, all of which I have seen in a real lobster. The brown edging represents rope, and the white the foam of the seawater.  This mosaic measures 12" x 18".
