“Hope” (wall hanging)

Individual tesserae are fabricated of glass and frit and then kiln-fired at half tack to achieve textured surfaces. Frit is brushed away to reveal random expressive figures in negative space.  Tesserae are later arranged and assembled to complete a “whole” using mosaic techniques in thinset and grout on wedi board. Finished piece is 15”x15”.
