Box with Shell Lid

I found 5 flat shells, probably used to server appetizers or snacks - so 1970's LOL - but I'm using them in my stained glass art.

I used one as a lid for a box and shaped the box to fit the shell, with a mirror bottom. For the hinges, I drilled two holes near the neck of the shell, soldered copper wire in the seams of the longest piece of glass (the back of the box), threaded the wire through the holes in the shell and 'twizzled' the wire on the top of the shell. It's finished in black patina, with bumpers on the inside of the lid and on the bottom.

It's about 5 inches square and a little over 2 inches deep.
