Aubree's Butterlfy

I designed this panel for my granddaughter.  It measures 24 x 24".  I used an Armstrong pale blue cathedral with multicolored streaks for the background.  The border was an iridized Spectrum.  The curved border elements at the bottom of each side were made from an iridized pink and white streaky ripple.  The butterfly was made from many textured cathedral glasses, including gold pink Bullseye.  The eyes were small iridized white nuggets.  What sets this piece of work apart, beyond the stylized butterfly, is the use of heavy lines.  Heavy black lines were created by intentional gaps between pieces of glass which were filled with solder.  The panel took 5 pounds of solder to finish.
