Here is a lampwork bead, chipmunk with a huge smile on his face. It sits on my kitchen window sill and makes me happy to look at him! I made this design after taking a class at Delphi from guest instructor, Kim Fields. What a great class! I've always loved making glass animal beads and the skills learned in her class really took my critters to the next level. You can see, here in my Delphi gallery, what my old animals looked like since I first started making beads in back 2000 with my daughter.
Back in the begining, lampwork started for me as a hobby to share with my girl as a way to stay connected through her teenage years. We had always had enjoyed artistic hobbies together and here was something different for us to try. Well, my plan worked like a charm! She loved making glass beads and soon she was inviting her friends over to our house so she could teach them. It was great for me to keep her close a little while longer. <3
