Indian War Pony

This work was inspired by the beauty of the great Native American Indians of the Western U.S. This piece shows several examples of Native American symbolism including the bars on the horses nose representing the owners war honors, the zig zag arrow to cause trouble for the enemy and strength for the rider, the red circle around the horses eye for alert vision and keen sense of smell and sacred feathers tied into the horses mane.  This piece measures 9 inches wide and 12 inches high. It was created with 96 coe glass and dichroics and fully fused.  Creating this War Pony was a wonderful learning opportunity for me to explore the beauty and sybolism of a small aspect of Native American Art forms.  Every color has a meaning and every symbol wordlessly tells a story.
