Pretty Peacock

This is a 15” round piece that is created in rough rolled glass. I selected this glass in order to capture the light as much as possible. My go-to glass is typically waterglass but this glass worked best for the many pieces of varying sizes.  There are about 132 pieces in this glass piece that I crafted using the copper foil method. I enjoyed creating this peacock piece as I have been looking for a smaller pattern that depicts this beautiful bird. I enclosed the piece in an oak frame. Due to the patience required to cut and shape each piece, I would imagine that it took me 30+ hours to complete over a month’s time frame.
