South Entrance Transom Windows in 1st Presbyterian Church of Morris, Illinois

Description:

Tri-panel commission for the 1st Presbyterian Church of Morris Illinois. The three panels each measure 30 inches high by 24 inches wide. The subject matter of each panel was specified by the church: 1) a Noah's Ark theme; 2) the corporate symbol of the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America; 3) the Pelican, which is an ancient symbol of Christ's sacrifice for all people. The border, which extends around the edge of the three panels as a unit, is reminiscent of the border around the other stained glass windows in this 1850's era stone church.
