Apple Tie

Spectrum and Wissmach glass rattlesnake in a Celtic inspired knot around a red delicious apple.

Snake is three shades of blue in a five strand braided pattern against yellow. The Apple is two shades of red. Background is black waterglass.

I stopped counting when I saw that this was going to go well north of 600 pieces of glass, many of them smaller than my pinkie nail. 20 hours just hand drawing the pattern and another ~98 hours in construction. Reinforced with zinc came edges and set in a fiddleback maple frame.

Measures ~22"h X 28"w without frame.
