Luna Landing

My client for this project is a nature lover.  He salvaged a round wooden window frame and his desired subject, a Luna Moth.  Since  most of the widows in his home look out to the woods I wanted to design something that would bring the woods into the house.

The Luna Moth is detailed with a wire overlay to form the veins in the moth’s wings.  Wire was used to create the antenna which was then spray painted gold.  An agate was used to simulate a branch in the tree being cut off.  The background glass is Uroboros green leaf with fractures and streamers.

The client installed lighting so that he could enjoy the piece during the day and in the evening.
