Woven Blues

I wanted to make a birthday gift for my friend’s mom who travels the world exploring and writibg about native textile traditions. So I wanted to make her something that looks like fabric. I searched all over and couldn’t find any videos or tutorials or even anything that looked like what I wanted to make, so I just fiddled around and figured it out myself. This is very unusual for me, as I usually give up on things if they don’t happen pretty easily. This weaving process was imperfect, tedious, and at times irritating. It took three firings to get what I wanted. But it’s my favorite piece I’ve ever made.
