Palmer Logo

This large panel, approximately 16"x24", was a gift for a student graduating from the Palmer Chiropractic College in Iowa. I designed the background with an open oval space and worked out doable cutting lines for the school's gryphon logo. When both the background and logo were complete, I plated the logo over the oval opening and soldered the two pieces together at the touch points. The crescent moons and letters were sandblasted into the glass. The chestplate scales and the tail teeth are copper foil overlays cover with solder. A pewter patina was applied to the entire piece and framed in oak.
